It would be nice to modify image frame to maintain the shape/contours as selected in the profile without changing the image within when illuminator is selected.  I have complained about this before but nothing appears to be happening.  Why would anyone spend a long period of time retouching a photo only to have your "frame" builder change it, of course, unless you want just a flat frame.  I think you should update your documention so that potential buyers know what Image Frame does and does not do.  I have always been a dedicated user and have purchased several of your products and never had a complaint, until now.  Could you tell me if you intend to make any changes to support adding a contoured frame without the illuminator changing my photo.

Thank you.......Ralph Ramirez

Hello Ralph,

Is it true that when you change "Illumination" controls they affect on whole image, not only frame.
It is our decision concerning plugin's behavior.
I seems to us, that we increase effect range by this way.

Source image

Apply to this image "Wood" preset

Now we can "illuminate" this image by some colored light

Source image was changed, it may seem strange to you, when we construct plugin we decide to illuminate whole image, not only frame. At that time we think about it as right decision.

For example: we can apply "Lens" effect: in order to achieve such effect it we must deform source image.

We have no complaints about lens effect and illumination, moreover you can check off both illumination and lens effect in "illumination" and "option" dialog and do not affect on source image , only to generated frame.

Bump map effect on the frame without source image changing

Thank you Ralph for your remarks, we need for feedback in order to satisfy user's requests.
We take into account your notes when will design new version of the Image Frame.

Regards, Dmitry

Dmitry, thank you for responding.  What I am getting at is that nowhere in your documentation does it state that when frames are generated without clicking on the illuminator that the frame is flat.  Not that nice 3-D type frame.  That is why I bought it, I like that effect.  Again, I have photoshop to do my image manipulation I do not want a frame builder to change my image further, just a frame.  When I frame an image that means I am done with retouching.  Sorry I keep beating on a dead horse but I just can't understand why this isn't understood.  Why can't you modify your software to create the frame as is done with the illuminator turned on without affecting the image?  I do want to thank you for always responding to questions/concerns from your user community.  I would sure like to see a change in the software.

Regards.......Ralph

Dmitry, decided to still use your Image Frame but created a work-around to use the illuminator without affecting my image.  I first duplicated my image, enlarged the canvas, created the frame with illuminator on the copy.  Selected and deleted inside the frame leaving only the frame.  I fit the frame by using CS3 transform command, flattened the image and cropped.  Too bad I had to do all this extra work to get what I wanted but that's the way it is.  Here is a link to the photo so you can see what I have been talking about in my posts:  http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1158/920373543_aa9f75b3fe_b.jpg
