Hi,

Suddenly today my Background Remover 3.0 plugin has stopped working in PSP X3.  I uninstalled and re-installed several times, but the editing window no longer comes up.

I work with this plugin all the time, so no issues with incorrect file types, etc.  The problem occurs when  I select:
Effects -> Plugins -> ImageSkill -> Background remover.

At that point, the editing window used to appear.  Now, nothing happens, no error, no editing box, nothing.

The plugin still works fine with my PSP X2 installation on the same computer.

Any ideas on how to fix this in my PSP X3 installation?

Many thanks,

Still not working after several attempts to re-install.

I think PSP updated itself recently, I'm now running v 13.2.1.15

Is Background Remover still compatible with this version of  PSP?

I have the same problem - the plugin works fine in another application (Serif PhotoPlus X4), but although PSP X3 sees it there nothing happens when I open it.  Other plugins still work fine in PSP.  PSP has recently updated to v13.2.1.20

Any news on a fix?

Thank you

Hi,

Move the Background Remover.8bf file from the folder where our plugin was initially installed (usually it is C:\Program Files (x86)\ImageSkill\Background Remover 3) somewhere outside and copy to this folder the Background Remover.8bf file taken from http://www.imageskill.com/tmp/br/BackgroundRemover.8bf

We hope it helps to fix the problem.

Thank you for the quick reply but, unfortunately, did not work. Here some info that may help you to find a solution:

The original BackgroundRemover.8bf is working OK with Photoshop CS4 32
With Photoshop CS4 64 is not even shown in the "Filter" menu. (Photoshop fails to load the plugin)

The "new" BackgroundRemover.8bf will hung Photoshop CS4 32
Same as with the "old", in Photoshop CS4 64 is not even shown in the "Filter" menu. (Photoshop fails to load the plugin)

The "old" and the "new" BackgroundRemover.8bf will not work at all with Paint Shop Pro X3. Nothing open after selecting the BackgroundRemover 3 from the Effects menu.

All this on a Window 7 64.

Regards and hope for a solution soon.

I have tried that 8bf file and it made no difference for me either.  If I try to run the plugin on an image that is only background layer then it gives the warning, but once the image has been promoted the filter doesn't respond at all.

Huh Its been awhile now, and still no fix for Corel Paintshop Photo Pro X3 [ver. 13.2.1.20]? Background Remover 3.1 stillno longer opens (with 'original' 8bf{2.1Mb}, or 'new' 8bf{1.548Mb}). ImageSkill 'Displacement Map' plug-in no longer opens in PSPP X3 either. Both of these plug-ins still
work fine with PSPP X2 (with either 8bf). All my other plug-ins from other companies still work well
in X3. So is there a real fix in the works, or have you contacted Corel?

Cheesy October 2011, Corel just released "Patch 5" for PSPP X3, which fixes this very issue (among others). This should bring your PSPP X3 to version 13.2.1.32. Sure took long enough!! Surprised they fixed this now that PSPP X4 was just released. Repairs issues with plug-ins that require a layer or mask.
