Hi,

I dealed today a lot with the Background Remover plugin in two versions and with several pictures.

One thing I'd really love to see is to have some kind of possibility to store and load settings of previous pictures; esp. the marking of Object and Background. In the ideal world, it would be possible to move the lines somehow  Wink, maybe even selective deletion would work  Grin

Why do I want such a function?

I often have a series of similar pictures with only some shift between them but with more or less complex shapes such as people posing with minor moves (just turning their head, moving slowly, ...). It would help a lot to carefully draw a save a shape of "Object" and "Background", save it with the first picture and to load it for all other pics, just moving around some lines.

Just to give an example: Take a look at http://www.minnig-dance.ch/?q=node/80 (Disclaimer: None of the pictures are related to me anyhow, these were just the first matching ones I found in Google Images), let's take a look at image 1.
It's a typical image to show two people that perform competitive dancing, with some holes between clothes and arms, and only seldom with a clear contrast between dress and walls (or even people sitting in the background...).
No matter where you are, it will be always pretty much the same shape, sometimes the people are a bit smaller, sometimes you're cutting the feet and everything is bigger in your image. But you just take the shapes, move them around and do not need to paint again and again and again the feet, the dress, the arms, ...

Even if I haven't used Translucator plugin that frequent (hey - I started installing, troubleshooting and processing of some dozen images with background remover today!) can imagine that it might be helpful there as well.

And just one more idea on top of this - building up a online community of peoples sharing their shapes (maybe classified by ImageSkill) might increase the use a lot (and the customer base as well).
It might sound a bit philosophic, but in general there is just a limited set of basic shapes that fit a very vast number of objects. Cars do not vary very much, pillars of books look very similar all around the world, even playing children have only a very limited set of possibilities to move.

It would be great if such a function could be added somewhen in the future  Cool

Best regards to the ImageSkill team!

Hi Arctos,

Thank you very much for your expression of interest in the Background Remover. I am very grateful to you for all your suggestions. They sound quite reasonable and interesting for us and we are going to analyze them carefully.

Best wishes,
Mikhail

Thanks for the input, but in this case, it's simply a case of not being able to save or load presets. The plugs worked fine in previous versions of PTLE, the problem only seems to have cropped up in 7.4.
